What's Missing? Product, Service, Options. Ideas? Help!

Posted on December 15, 2016 at 9:31pm 2 Comments

Short and sweet. I love this community. I'm passionate about building and the people who like to as well. I love the idea of taking flat sheet metal and turning it into functional engineered art work that can take you places. I want to be involved in this full time. But I need to be able to support a family (my growing family) too. What product, service or option is missing in your build process or flying adventures that would be really nice to have and doesn't currently exist, or isnt…

Bryan,

Your name came up regarding Franklin 235 in a Cruzer.  I have the firewall forward now and thinking about the Cruzer too.  Interested in any comments you may provide.

Hey Bryan!  I think so - not that many cruzer builders I know of, and none of the corvair builders here in CA i talked to at CC #37 are going Zenith.

Brian,  You asked me about the strut fairing on the CH-801 that I built, the fairings came with the kit, offhand I don't recall if they were an add on or came with the standard kit, but they did come from Zenith.

Hey Bryan,
I haven't started building.  The Cruzer is on my short list of projects.  I hope to get an up-close look at the plane at Sun-n-Fun this April and decide one way or the other.

I felt it needed a fuel pump , min fuel and high angle the flow was not very good and I thought the little electric boost pump would be good insurance. As for performace,it was not bad for a heavier engine. I have flow a lot of rotax and was really surprised by how good it could perform I think. A lot has to do with the whirlwind prop . You don't feel the steep climb out that you would with a rotax but it's not bad
I think the corvair is heavier than the 0-200 and you might have trouble keeping the thing cool , the STOL only flys at about 80-85 MPH
