Thanks for your encouragement.  I think it will go well, and my son and daughter will probably learn a lot from the build as well.  My son (for now) is interested in being an aeronautical engineer.
  • Philip James Weston

Thank you Bill for the kind words. It was a great experiance hanging out with him

back in the day and today as well. The gliders, The Piper Cubs, The Cessna's, oh my!

Thanks, Bill. I am planning to visit the factory to pick up a few of the larger structures at some point. I'll definitely stop in and say hello!

    Hi Bill,

    Thanks for the kind welcome..

That's not my panel, I uploaded the wrong photo.....

I'm only at the very beginning of the adventure..I am about to start scratch building a 650..

I've purchased the info pack, and now in the process of ordering the plans....

And can't wait to start building..

I'm 42 years old just got my license for LSA class (Yesterday) have 25 hours flight time...

Unfortunately  don't have to spare cash to buy a complete kit...But building from scratch will be even more satisfying.

    Kind regards

    Keith

Bill, thanks for the warm welcome!  I will be picking my kit up from an owner that was looking to sell it.  I wont be in the area but I hope to see you at an open house some day!  Thanks again!

    Hello there Bill,

Thank's for the welcome and i'm sorry for my late reply. You know my job, all this bikinis. How do i ever gonna finish my plane.

I have actually up to today finished my rudder, horizon stab, elevator, slats and flaperons. Started with the right wing this evening.

Was at the Sport aviation Expo in Sebring , Florida last week. There i put my hands on the new Viking motor. Waiting to see the outcome of that. Sounds very promising.

By the way. I have a great picture of the Swedish bikini team when they visited LA. If you give me an e-mail address where i can send it and you could forward it to your son.

Thanks Bill, I hope it's as much fun as my last build, this will be my first all metal.  I only received the plans and manual so far, hopefully I will be getting the kit in the next couple weeks. Kevin

    Hi Bill :

Thanks for the invitation to come visit.  I will be there for the rudder build on March 17 & 18.  I will see if I can come by on the 18th.  Got an address and phone number?  Dave

  • Mike Ice

    Hi. Bill,

Thank you for the invitation. I always ask folks from the lower 48 that are headed to Alaska to let me know, there are a bunch of us aviators up here that love to show off our playground.

I have a question. Is a builder assist facility only for folks that can attend in person? Can I call you if I have a question? Do you have videos?

    Mike

  • Mike Ice

    Bill,

    Thanks for the prompt reply.

I doubt I will ever be able to attend your workshop because of the expense of traveling that far and then the additional food and lodging but, hey who knows.

If I was to buy a kit from Zenith and have it delivered to your shop what is the minimum amount of time before I could fly away?

I suppose I would still have to fly off the 25 to 40 hours, so darn it amore complications.

If I get those videos I will be sure to mention your name.

    Thank you,

    Mike Ice

  • Mike Ice

    Bill,

    Thanks for the reply.

Yeah, a month would just make it too darned expensive, what with time off work and all, cant do that.

I have built an RV9 so I think I have the skills to build the Zenith. There are a couple of Zeniths in the area so I can get the feel of the aircraft from here so I don't think I need to visit the factory.

The engine and prop are always a big consideration that is for sure. I stayed with a certified Lycoming and prop for the RV and have never been sorry. What engine/prop combinations are the most common for the Zenith 750?

    Thank you,

    Mike

  • Mike Ice

    Bill,

I saw that you said you might know of a 750 kit that might be for sale. Is that true.

How much has been completed? What cost?

    Mike Ice

  • robert t moore

    Bill,

I know the ch 750 kit qualifies for 51% EAB, does the quickbuild (think it's about $30K)?

Do you take the standard kit and turn it into the quickbuild?

Is there a place to park a 5th wheel near your shop?

With the nosewheel off the ground (takeoff attitude) therefore the tail lowered, can the CH750 be moved/hangered in a conventional enclosed double axle trailer, say 8 ft by 24 ft by 7 ft high?

How much match drilling is there in the kit? skins and ribs both drilled? fuse skins and stiffeners both drilled? etc.

How much, if any, of the kit can be directly drilled to 1/8 in and riveted, rather than up drilled thru 3/32, - then updrilled to 1/8?

Are the kit holes ready for 3/32 clecos (see last question above)?

I have a Jab3300, does someone have the baffling, oil cooler, etc for the CH750?

Appreciate the benefit of your expertise......

  • robert t moore

    Bill,

Thank you for taking the time to address my questions.....

I will complete the rudder, then go from there.  I know the rudder is not so much match drilled, but I am used to that.  I think the match drill on most of the remainder of the kit would speed it up a lot.

You are a long ways away, and that makes it difficult for other than a full-blown build assist.  I will keep it in mind.
    Thanks again......Bob and Linda Moore

Thanks Bill. I've been to Zenith last summer to fly the 750 with Roger. Now I have to decide to build from plans or a kit. Decisions, decisions...
  • Jock Anderson

    G'day,

I have a Zenith CH300 which has been flying for 27 years and has(only) 650 hours on it.  Still flies well and has recently been converted to IFR.

    Cheers,

    Jock Anderson

Thanks for the welcome, but actually I now have two member profiles. I was a member a couple years ago, but was apparently was locked out because of a period of inactivity, so I had to reapply. I can't delete the older member profile, so you can do it for me, if you can. My son Doug also has had this problem and has two profiles. If you want to clean up your records, you are free to remove our older profiles.

  • Rex Baxter

    Hi there Bill.

I would like to visit the States at some stage but at this stage pressure of work is such that travelling to the other side of the world is not an option, but if I ever do get the chance I will call in and say hello. Thanks for the invite,

    Rex

    HI Bill,

Thanks for the welcome note.  I'm looking forward to the project and my first flight in my 750.  Sorry we didn't have time to stop by when at the factory; certainly will do next time and will plan the time in advance to visit.

    Hi Bill:

Dave Junkins here in Bloomington, IN.  I am really enjoying building this 750 emensly.  Compared to other planes I have built this is supremely easier and with the best directions ever.  With that said, I need to know if the elevator trim servo motor has been changed.  The directins I have indicate a square motor with several wires coming out.  The motor I think I have appears to be shaped like a gun and has only two wires, a black and a red.  If these have been changed, I do not have the servo motor connectin rod (T2-7A-TS).   I think it is just a small worm gear between the motor and tab (75T4-7).  Is this something I should take up with the factory?  Dave

  • Danal Estes

    Bill,

Thanks for the invite.  We've already been to the factory once, to fly an 801 and a 750.  We missed you guys on that trip.

We will make it a point to visit the next time we are up.  And I'm sure there will be several trips!

  • Timothy Aanerud

    Bill,

Thanks for the hospitality.  I attended the builders workshop on 6/23 - 6/24/2011.

  • Dan Sherburn

Thanks Bill...I'm sure I'll get down to Mexico for a flight and I'll stop by.

    Dan

  • Xavier Ramirez

Thank You Bill. We'll be in touch.

  • Billy Amerson

Thanks for your response and thanks for your invitation. I'm sure we will be in touch as we build this plane we will have questions
  • Raymond Paul

Thanks Bill,I would love to visit one day should the oppurtunity arise. Living here in Zimbabwe puts my along away away from you, fortunately your are only a click away on internet. I am just waiting for the cost of FEDEX to send the plans to me and then my project can come to life.
