Yamaha Apex Powered CH750 Cruzer Now Flying !!

Quick update to say my Yamaha Apex / Skytrax Gearbox / E-Prop Durandal powered Cruzer is flying and performing above expectations (which were high to begin with !).  Performance has been truly outstanding.  Added benefit has been the small radiator / heat exchanger and fan I installed behind the panel.  It being fall and getting cold here in Canada it sure is nice to be able to continue to fly with the colder weather and still be nice and warm inside the aircraft.  The liquid cooled Yamaha…See More

Factory Supplied Pitot / Static and Potential Water Ingress

For those who have installed the factory supplied pitot / static tubes on the wing which does not have any provision for a drain for potential water ingress during flight in rain on the pitot tube, have you had any issues with your airspeed indicator?  If this is a non-issue great, but I know most pitot intake tube system have a built in pressure chamber and drain hole for water, and the Zenith factory supplied one does not thus my question / concern.  Any input on this would be appreciated.See More

Trial fit of exhaust header on Apex

Trial fit of exhaust header from a Suzuki Samurai. Spacing is good.  Next step to weld it to the exhaust flanges. (Note: disregard the radiator in the picture as it’s not likely the one I’m going to use and is not in the right position).See More

Adjustable Seat

Using a similar approach that others here have used, I came up with my own version of an adjustable seat that uses slots in the seat pan and a ball lock pull pin to secure the seat in place once adjusted.  Standard install method nut plates on the back side for the four bolts that go through the slots in the seat pan.  Larger washers on top.  3/4" square alum tube in the center under the seat pan drilled with holes to accept the pull pin. Very light weight solution and easy to adjust the seats…See More
