Hello all,I saw a Ch701 on amphibs for sale recently, a coworker actually showed me the add off of barnstormers if my memory serves correctly. The aircraft was advertised as having a 1400lb max gross. Slats vs VGs - beating a dead horse ?

Hi all,I've got my wings built to the point where I'm about to drill/cleco the leading edge skins. I'm getting cold feet about the slat vs VG debate. I have the brackets already built and clecoed on to the nose ribs as per the build manual. Why would you build a plane?

I was having an interesting chat with a co worker who is also into kit planes and recreational flying. 110hp, 54kg, 1000hr TBO- Why is the Simonini Victor 2 super not more popular?

As the title states, I find myself constantly perusing engine options for my build (701). On paper, the simonini looks amazing. Outside of being a 2 stroke, and i understand some people are leery of them. This thing can be bought new for 7900$ usd and has US distributors. It weights significantly less than a rotax 912uls and makes 10hp more. Its got a TBO of 1000hrs, dual ignitions. and mounts in a 582 mount which Zenair/zenith makes already.
