1988 vintage 701 wings. 5 gallon fuel tank in each. but they have been bumped and scratched in a few places. They would need about 50 square inches of new skin. Also there is some ugly bondo work by…Continue
Yep, KLR's are a blast! Mine will do anything I'm adventurous enough to try, same with my 750! I tend to gravitate to simple durable machines!
How are you doing with spring on strut ?

Hey Martin,
I see you do winter flying up your way in the 701. Ever have any issues with carb ice with the 912?
Thanks Again Martin , as someone once said , a picture is worth a thousand words .
Martin ,
thanks for taking the time to reply , really appreciate it.
I will have a look at Bob’s skis and I believe that he has plans available.
would like to stay as light as practicable.
Thanks again and thanks for the reply to the fella that was looking for “numbers” for his first flight . That kind of info is invaluable to us 701 newbies . Really enjoy your videos too .

Martin ,It looks like you have set up your great looking 701 as a all season flying machine . I’ve just purchased a already built and flying 701 and would like to put her on skis for winter use as you have .
From your pictures , your ski set up looks to be exactly what I have in mind . If you have more detailed picts of the skis and rigging would you mind sharing them ?
I would also be very interested to know if you built them yourself (plans ?) or purchased them .
Thanks in advance for any info you might want to share .

Martin - I bought the bearing with McMaster Carr and it is a 3/4" size. I really like the no slots flaperons. I see you're building from plans also. I had alot of fun doing it. Good luck with the rest!!
