N601KE Finished Model 1 med

In January (2020) I placed an order with customairmodels.com for a 1:28 scale display model of my CH601XL and it finally arrived yesterday (May 14). It's not perfect, but at $234 including DHL Express from the Philippines I'm pretty happy with it.

Mr. Stan Cooper and others,

We paid a visit to JCAB twice but it might take years(no kidding) to obtain an airworthiness certificate.

There were many red tapes elsewhere and some of them are invisible!   Main reason of  this processing

may perhaps inspectors have no experience licensing such a large, heavy, fast  as CH650 before. There were many red tapes elsewhere and  some of them are invisible!

Should I once ship the aircraft back to US and get FAA license, and apply in Japan afterwords?

I wonder if there is anyway to get FAA airworthiness certificate here in Japan?

Stan, Jay Meinen, mentioned you were familiar with the slsa to elsa conversion. I would appreciate any information on the process also. My personal email is jimh5000@prodigy.net.

Thanks

Thanks so much for the reply. Your story sounds much like mine. I have a Private rating but let it lapse and will use my California drivers license to get a recertification in the sport pilot category. I have many questions so I appreciate the links and will likely be in touch.
Thanks again...
Scott
