Engine weights, accessory weights, parts weight, etc, can be hard to establish because the published weights by manufacturers at times do not specify what is included, and at times are just not plain accurate. Particularly for engines, some of the…Continue

Though we hear some pilots sitting around and bitching about what some alphabet groups don't do, the reality is we are those alphabet groups, and we owe much to what we can do because of them. A significant event happened recently because of the…Continue

Do you fly with someone who keys the mic and says "I'm burning .0004 gallons per hour, how about you?" as you note your fuel consumption and look for the cheapest gas to plan your next stop? If so, the HACman may be something you might be interested…Continue

Hi, Walt!
I am all assembled now at Buzzair in TN. I have been working 12hrs a day on the plane. My empty weight is 817 pounds, with the Corvair 100HP engine. Kindly add to your chart for me, as I have no idea how.
Thanks,
Dave Muse

Hi Walt - Thanks for your favourable comments. I am lucky to have some good photographer friends and I love giving them something to shoot. I will post pics of Zenair Aircraft and Flying in Orkney as I get them - The desert is such a contrast to Orkney the most common thing is the lack of trees :-D Glad to be friends Buddo
i forgot about the seat . i bought the seat option from zen and the tried them on the seat frame and finale sat in them, well i'm all legs so my seat position was as far back as i could possible make them. i did make two other positions for other people.
>Thank you Walt i used toughs in my wings but was lucky and made the aluminum line work to the valve. I plan to use the flexible line to the firewall and beyond/ with fire sleeve of coarse. the pic's on my zenith site show the line before finale installation of the other side panel to my center console i also intend to use some cork between the panels to help with abrasion. I kind of wish i had made my console the same as yours but it did work out well. thanks again for the reply Ron
,Hi Walt in the photo you sent showing your center console with the cover off, it appears that I havebought the same gas valve. The instructions were rather sparse, looking at yours it looked like the left goes to the left and right to the right center to feed motor. but I noticed that you had a 180 twist in the lines, I have no clue how to plumb that thing, could you help me out? there is a flat spot milled in the bottom of the valve to help with orientation for me. one other question. on your movable seat does the brkt that receives the rod go over the top of the seat pan or under ? Thanks you really have so great ideas.
Thanks for your interest. The flyin was at lock haven pa. It is an annual get together mostly of piper Cubs held at the factory where they where born. I met up with Sebastian at Fredrick md. At which time he gave me flyers to hand out. I hung them on my prop, they where gone in less than two hours.
Hi Walt,
Jan has the engine weighed at 178 lbs dry. I don't have an easy way to check the engine weight or total engine plus FWF weight for a while. I will let you know when I do.
