Flush Rivets for Seat Back Supports

Started this discussion. Last reply by William Carter Feb 16. 2 Replies

The Seat Pans that came with our Cruzer kit are about 4mm narrower than the plans call for (381mm instead of 385mm).  This means that we have zero clearance between the steel tube of the Seat Back…Continue

Adjustable Seat Rails

Started on the seats for our Cruzer.  The plans give the bolt size to attach the seat pans to the rails but then say "the nuts are welded to the rails".Ours don't have anything welded to the…Continue

Flaperon Actuator Mount Question

For the 5th ed Cruzer, which has the same flap motor set up as the SD, when I attach the motor to the mount it is a tight fit.  With the mount held flat on the bench with one hand if I grab the end…Continue

Flush Rivets for Seat Back Supports

The Seat Pans that came with our Cruzer kit are about 4mm narrower than the plans call for (381mm instead of 385mm).  This means that we have zero clearance between the steel tube of the Seat Back and the Seat Back Supports.  I mean not easy to slide a piece of paper between them.Has anyone countersunk the last vertical row of rivets in the Seat Back Supports and used flush driven rivets (AN426) instead of AS5 pulled rivets?Any issues with using aluminum rather than steel since it's going…See More

Adjustable Seat Rails

Started on the seats for our Cruzer.  The plans give the bolt size to attach the seat pans to the rails but then say "the nuts are welded to the rails".Ours don't have anything welded to the rails.I've found some pictures of the rails with threaded studs pre-attached as well.  I think they are to attach the bottom rails to the aircraft.  Ours do not have those either.Anybody else have the same issue?See More

Wheel Rim Color

Received my finishing kit a couple of weeks ago.  Building a Cruzer with STOL gear.  The rims supplied in the kit are gold.  We'd prefer gloss black.  I've never worked with split rims before. What's the best way to do that?  Powder coat or paint?  Any tricks or tips would be appreciated.See More

Cruzer vs STOL Gear Springs

Are the Gear Springs for the Cruzer (P/N: C75L2-1 Main Gear Spring) and the STOL (P/N: 75L2-1 Tundra Main Gear Spring) the same? They have different part numbers/names but I know Zenith has been moving towards more commonality amongst parts.  The build guide for the Cruzer actually shows the STOL part number and some of the pictures for mounting the gear are of a STOL.If they are not the same, what are the differences and are they bolt-off/bolt-on interchangeable?See More
