I was able to leak test the installed pilot gas tank with air saving a great deal of grief.
I capped vent tube with rubber cap and clamp, pressure gauge in fuel line and air hose in fuel return line.
The gas cap was sealed with double sheet of saran wrap.
The pressure was 2-3 PSI and the tank was installed and gas tank skin was clecoed closed.
It was much easier than disassembly and bench testing with gas.
The tank needed to be installed for this…

Hi again,
Time to report back on my CH750 build. What has been done so far :
1) CH750 : stabilitor is finished but not closed. It is full symmetrical to match the symmetrical elevator.
2) CH750 : wing are done - not closed and inspecting them right now...
3) CH750 : ordered some control parts (aileron mixer) to finish the setup. Got the rudder pedals and brakes/reservoirs
4) CH750 : aileron + flap skeltons are being…

Viking Aircraft Engines has once again proven itself to be a committed partner with AV84all. Viking recently donated an upgrade steel bungee for the nose wheel of the Zenith 750.
This upgrade to the standard rubber bungee will not wear out, and will make rudder operation smoother. This is crucial in an aircraft that will have a handle to control rudder deflection.
From Viking:
The Viking, steel bungee upgrade, “works in reverse of the original rubber bungee, yet the…

After 18 years, Donna Zimmerman will be retiring from Zenith Aircraft Company at the end of this year.
Donna was responsible for shipping and receiving, making sure the many parts that make up the kits were carefully packaged and crated. Here, Donna works on one of her last shipments, helping Glen (of Hulett, Wyoming) pack his STOL CH 750 wings, slats and…

Does anyone have plans for a cradle for two wings while I finish the fuselage? I am a kit builder since I do not have the capability of independent building or construction.

Short and sweet. I love this community. I'm passionate about building and the people who like to as well. I love the idea of taking flat sheet metal and turning it into functional engineered art work that can take you places. I want to be involved in this full time. But I need to be able to support a family (my growing family) too. What product, service or option is missing in your build process or flying adventures that would be really nice to have and doesn't currently exist, or isnt…

I started the right passenger wing skeleton, it seems the factory assembled wing spar has multiple rivets in locations which will need to be drilled out to install nose ribs and rear ribs. Maybe I am missing something or have the wrong spar?
Is this a common occurrence or am I just unlucky?

While working on my wing spars I realized I had put a nose rib angle in backwards and needed to make another one. I decided to use this as an opportunity to demonstrate the method I use for for laying out, bending and checking parts that I fabricate.

I had my rudder ready for priming and riveting last week, but it's been too rainy to prime. So I just moved on to the fin and kept drilling. :)

Below is a list of some tools I have found useful while scratchbuilding. Some of these I already had because I have machine tools, but have been very useful for building my plane.
1. Magnets- Neodymium magnets work great for holding parts together for doing test fit ups. Wrap magnets in duct tape with extra hanging off as a tab to grab onto them.
2. Steel sheet- Laying steel sheet on my workbench and magnets to hold aluminum and layout tools in place. I use 20…
