Door Air Deflectors for the STOL CH 750

Getting ready for summer (and the hot muggy weather that we've come to expect in central Missouri), we decided to remove the doors of our STOL CH 750 once again.

We decided to add air deflectors along the front of the cabin / door frame to maximize comfort with the doors off.  Air (or wind) deflectors are common on European cars - where many folks drive around with their windows open (many cars there are not equipped…

We've made the popular Zenith STOL CH 750 light sport utility kit aircraft even bigger and better!

Hello every one,

I have this type of cowling http://www.zenith.aero/photo/dry-fit-cowling-8 and going to be installed to CH750 airframe, for Rotax 912S. The question is    dose the engine need in let openings for air cooling from the front of the cowling puting in consideration the high temp. in Saudi where it reaches 47c in summer time.?

Some engine choices for my 750

(The original post can be found on my build blog at  www.stol750project.info/engine-selection.)

It's up to me to choose something to turn the spinny thing and I come from a position of next to no knowledge of such things. Reading the build forums there are as many opinions as there are choices and if you were to discount all the engines which are "most definitely unsuitable" for general aviation there… Continue

New Zenith Builder Assist Center to open near the factory in Mexico, MO.

Hey Everyone,

We spoke with so many of you both at the Zenith Workshops and at their Annual Open Hangar Day this year that I wanted to update you with what’s happening with our New Builder Assist Center.

It’s been unusually cold here in Missouri, home of Zenith Aircraft. The temperature this past weekend was 1 with the high of 12. Not exactly the best weather to be out in the garage building on your project.

Until now the only choices for…

STOL CH 750: Dual Control Sticks

Frank Tompson recently installed the dual control stick option kit in his STOL CH 750:

We were a little concerned about cabin access (getting in and out of the airplane) with the dual sticks but it appears not to be a problem. Here's a schematic of the system:

The…

FAA's NKET visits the Zenith factory

Earlier this week we were treated by a two day visit by the FAA's newly created National Kit Evaluation Team (NKET) to evaluate and determine that the STOL CH 750 kit, as produced by Zenith, meets the intent of the "51% rule" and to allow an amateur-builder to register the plane as an "amateur-built - Experimental" aircraft (meeting the "major portion" requirement of Title 14, Code of Federal Regulations part 21, Certification Procedures for… Continue

STOL CH 750 x 2

This was the ramp in front of the Zenith factory earlier today: two burgundy and gray light aircraft visited today:

The high wing is Mike Schlichtman's STOL CH 750 and the other is Randy Schlitter's Rans S-19 LSA.

Mike's nice STOL CH 750 is nearly identical to our factory demo version - both are powered by the six cylinder Jabiru 3300… Continue

750 or 701? Well, both!!

We have been testing and our CH750 with the 97hp UL260i. Flight testing is going well and should be done for our trip to Sun n Fun.

Doing our best to keep it light it has minimal interior, EFIS, Comm, and Xpnder, along with the 159 lb UL260i engine. Empty weight came in at 701.5 lbs, on digital scales, weighed twice. The firewall forward kit is currently available for any of the ULPower engines, 97, 107, 118 and 130hp.…

Every time a bell rings......

a zenith gets its wings.

Well, not really. Jon Croke and I spent the last few days finishing up the Assembly and rigging for the CH750 DVD series. Now I have to get the engine and panel ready to fly. We will be changing over to the UL260i shortly and are verifying our engine mount data based on weighing it with the Corvair. More updates… Continue
