Hi Steve,

Just watched your first flight video. Great Job! Most that try memorializing this special moment have not pulled it off in the same great fashion that you accomplished! You rocked it!

Steve, I have a Corvair engine I am building to 3.0 Liters with WW and Dan Weseman. Recently I found a 601HD that is about 50% complete. Was started by an aircraft fabricator so the quality is high. Was curious about any info you have obtained from your early test flights in phase1. Cruise speed? Stall power off and on. What is your empty weight?

Congrats again!

Thanks everyone for the comments.  I started building the engine and plane 5 years ago and enjoyed every day of it.  I still need to install the wheel pants and paint it but for now I look forward to flying it more.  I originally made the video for my family but seen I could upload it to this site and thought others might enjoy it as well.

@William Wynne, thanks for all of your work in the world of Corvair flight engines, I look forward to flying it to some Colleges in the future. P.S. please add me to your list of flying Corvairs : )

Congratulations Steve.  I hope you enjoy your HDS as much as I have over the last 250 hours of flight time.

Nice looking plane.

Congratulations on your accomplishment Steve.  It's an inspiration to remind all of us builders that we to can one day fly our own creations.  See you at Airventure 2020 in my CH650!
