5th Gen Cruzer with STOL gear option and the nose gear axle is a steel rod with holes drilled and tapped in each end.  The holes are tapped for 5/16-24 bolts.  One of the holes is not drilled deep enough for the bolt.  Any ideas on how to fix that?

Easy ... call Roger at Zenith and they should replace it for you!

I did.  He said I needed washers under the bolt heads and that should take care of the problem.  It did.  I've been using washers under the heads of bolts only if called for in the plans.  Problem with the landing gear is that we have STOL gear but Cruzer plans and they are much different.  I didn't know I needed them.  Also doesn't explain why one side of the axle was drilled different than the other... build on.
