The mini header tank has 2 threaded ports on the top for fuel from each tank. I know of one person who has used one of those ports for venting and placed a T fitting in the other to run both tanks…Continue

130 won’t start

I have a 130 installed on a 601. Trying to get it to start for the first time. It cranks, 12 volts at the ECU, has fuel, 44-49lbs, tried putting fuel in the air filter. Pulled a plug and grounded it there was spark while cranking. I removed all the plugs checked, the gap, cranked it and there is fuel in the cylinders. Jan has tested the ECU on his engine test stand and it works. I also checked all the electrical connections on the engine. Any thoughtsSee More

Mini header tank venting

I’m considering drilling and taping another hole to use as a vent back to the tanks.See More

Viking 130 in a 601XLB

My Jabiru 3300 destroyed itself at 773 hrs last month so I’m considering the Viking 130 as a replacement. Any advice from 601/650 owners would be greatly appreciated. Broken stud #5 cyl

After putting a little over 20 hours in 4 days I got back home to find oil all over the aircraft belly and lower cowling. After cleaning I found the #5 cyl lower rear stud nut had broken off. I’m not sure how or why and if I can fix it myself. Any thoughts or suggestions?See More

Voltage Regulator replacement AVC1

I had a the ground wire from the B&C crowbar melt today with a little smoke on start up. I rewired the crowbar from ground to the master switch and it is working ok. Is anyone using the AVC1 advanced voltage controller to replace the voltage regulator and crowbar ? My electric system has been pretty reliable for over 700 hrs however  this happened on a cross country and wound up in Wichitafor 2 days. Hoping to get back in the air tomorrow.See More

Oil pressure reading with engine shut down

Probably a dumb question but this is the first time I’ve noticed that my oil pressure on the Dynon 120shows 33 lbs with the engine off and hasn’t run in a day. Is it reading barometric pressure?See More

Rotor button adhesive

The Jabiru engine maintenance manual calls for “a small batch of 5- minute epoxy adhesive combined with a small amount of fiber (such as cotton fiber flock).”  Can anyone give me the name of the products you have used for the replacement of the rotor button?See More

Oil cooler adapter installation

i have oil seeping from the oil cooler adapter where it mates with the engine block. Besides a new o ringis anyone using Teflon paste, gasket RTV or lock tite on the matting surfaces to prevent leaks or seeps?i can’t find the install for the adapter in any of the manuals.See More

Push rod tube leaking oil

My 3300A s/n 1003 just started leaking oil from the #1 cylinder forward push rod tube at the crankcase. Looks like a pretty easy fix but just looking for anyone who has removed the cylinder head to replace the push rod tube o rings for tips, tricks and advice.See More
