Today I de-magnatized the down tubes of the cabin frame and the area immediatly in front of where the magnetic compass will sit, after checking the area I found I was successful in the de-magnetising process.
For information purposes to other builders I purchased a small hand held de-magnitizer unit from McMaster-Carr for $84.00 and it only took about 6 minutes to do the job. Word of caution I was careful to keep my distance from my Dynon D10A as it has an internal magnatometer that…

I was told that this was the wettest July in well over 100 years for the Oshkosh, Wisconsin area. Fortunately almost none of it fell during the EAA Airventure 2010 event. Unfortunately, it drenched the grounds in the couple of weeks leading up to it. I heard reports and saw pictures of areas on the grounds that were under 2 feet of water just a day or two prior to opening day.…

I am in the process of setting up my shop to turn out a few engine mounts, along with the cabin main frames for my 701 & 750 build. I already have all the necessary welding and cutting equipement that is needed, along with a complete assortement of full length chrome moly tubing from 1/4" up to the 2" in size. What I am desperatly looking for, is information from anyone that has had experience in using any of the thin walled tubing notchers. I have seen almost all the notchers that are…

I had to stand in for our chef "extraordinaire"…

I have gas caps that leak when I go flying. This is evident by the fuel streaks down the top of wings from the filler necks after I land. I suspect this is from the position of the filler neck & fuel caps is steep turns. High wing tank leaks in a turn. I also noticed that the right fuel tank level was always higher than the left after going flying.
The tanks would start out level if left in the hangar over night. I went to dip the tanks after flying and heard a "whoosh" upon…
