I am no good at cutting a straight line, never have been. So, these long skin trimmings are troublesome for me. Maybe with enough practice on this plane, I'll be better on the next one! Anyway, if…Continue

May be a stupid question, but are finger prints on the bare aluminum corrosion? I had to let things sit for a while and was a bit surprised at how many finger prints and the like are " stained" on to…Continue

After building the elevator skeleton and adding the rear skins. I checked that all appeared straight and square. I added the nose skins, checked their position and taped them in place. Starting in…Continue

For final assembly and riveting of the rudder, is the rudder nose skin tucked back under the rudder rear skin or laid over top of the edge of the rudder rear skin. The latter seems more aerodynamic.…Continue

What are people using for Builders Log these days? I searched this site for it; there was mention of KitLog Pro about a year ago. Is that still relevant? What about making your own blog or website? ( thru Google for example ) How about good old fashioned paper note book and pictures?
Do the inspectors electronic records or do they want paper?

Hi Chris
Boy, that was fast! I didn't get to ship it until Fri AM- They told me you would receive by Tues of this week. The gallery oil plugs are not in tight in the case- just enough so they don't get lost. Also- did you find the thru bolts and nuts wrapped in cardboard?
I'm working on installing my throttle quadrant in the center console and all trim and flap switches located to the rear of the quadrant.
Thanks again- Fred
Hi Chris
I had forgot that i had the bell housing cut down for a front cover and would have sent it along at no cost. I had misplaced the gallery oil plugs so stopped at corvair ranch today .
I had Dan Weserman install his new one piece 5th bearing and his new mfg billet crank on a case I shipped to him. If you decide that route, it takes awhile from ordering till it is completed. I have'nt received mine from him yet but it is now ready. If you have questions on his work- let me know.
Will get your package off to you in a day or so.
Thanks- Fred
Hi Chris
Received your check-Thanks- Will get to UPS Monday or Tuesday to ship.
I have a question for you- are you planning on installing a 5th bearing? If not, I have a bell housing that is cut down to size for the front end cover- could easily be packed in the same box. Also, do you have a crank? The crank I listed is still available.
Thanks again -Fred
Don't mind at all. If you can sell the picture at a profit, we'll split the proceeds!
Hi Chris
If you are interested in the corvair case -give me your address you want it shipped to and send me a check or money order for $110.00 - 80 + 30 for shipping and I'll get it off to you.
Thanks- Fred Schutt - 76 Opossum Hill Rd.- Aspers, Pa 17304
Hi Chris
Checked with going postal - can ship to your area for approx $30.00 max
Thanks-Fred
