Second run of engine but the first on the airframe. I was surprised at how quickly it started. 120 hp, 3,000cc corvair.

Received my CH 750 STOL kit last week. Taking inventory of contents. Can't wait to start. Parts for major overhaul on Lycoming 0320 should arrive any day and I can get that part of my project out of the way.

The geese are back,
A few weeks ago the snow geese started to arrive in full force and spread out all over the valley in which I live. This started about five years ago and it seems more and more are joining the fray. Winter wheat planted in fall stands about two inches high at this time of year is tops on the menu. Flocks like the ones shown can destroy a field in one day, it is to the point farmers are planting more corn in place of wheat. Along with some corn my land is planted…

In Plane language would you guys explain what is going with Jabiru engines.
This brand has been used in Zenith aircraft for many years and personally have owned two.
Other than typical heating issues in new engines, I didn't know of other problems until this morning..

Anyone have experience with your 601 XL-B and snow loads ?
With this years heavy storms, I am concerned about the stress of two feet, maybe three feet of snow on the wings.
Cantilever wings , snow, over stress spars, weight of snow.

Earlier this month, we opened up our factory to Christopher Ward and members of EAA Chapter 429 of Jefferson City (MO) to give Chris and his helpers to get a chance on progressing on the construction of a Zenith CH 750 Cruzer.
Christopher attended our regular Zenith Workshop earlier in the year,…

Just got the first review on a flying "Steel Bungee"
"Yesterday I flew Rick's 750 with the new spring and what an amazing difference!"
Mike
We now have a bunch of hours on our own "Steel Bungee" and also have the V-shaped nylon block milled flat. I have tried to introduce rudder flutter to see if I could loose the rudder at VNE and all other speeds but it is just fine.
The suspension is now actually moving up and down, rather than mostly being locked into the top…

I finally have finished all that can be completed here in my garage. Soon, I will move all the parts to Sunrise Beach airport, Texas, for re-assembly and to get ready for the FAA airworthiness inspection.

Rec'd cylinder heads a few days ago, but from Azalea Aviation in Ga. Mine are still in Wisconsin. Heads look super good. Excellent work done on them, and it didn't take a year. Have the new engine mount installed and it is supporting the motor. Panel is cut and instruments are ready to be mounted. Got the new lower starter, too. I'll be able to finish the engine now and locate the wires and hoses as I go. Wife working on interior. She wants cup holders and glove compartment. (Sigh!) I'll…

Shifted focus back to the spar web doubler yesterday and today. Have pre-mounted to the spar and cut and pre-mounted the strut angle. Thanks to Timothy Aanerud for his advice on the strut angle cuts and photos of the entire assembly! I have to admit his strut angles look better than mine!

The Viking Steel Bungee was developed from customer requests:
"I have a flying CH-701 at present and was always wondering how to improve the bungee on the nose wheel strut. I have added a collar to the strut to keep it from total collapse but am leery…

Well, might not win any awards but the rudder is done. Turned out well and doesn't appear to have any twist. 10 hour day in a cold pole barn today...and loving it!

Flew with a 17 year old that I helped get his pilot license. He has about 70 plus hours now and let him fly the 750. He did extremely well with his first dirt road landing and take off from a soft field. I think he did an excellent job on the video with music and the video editing. Enjoy!!!

Could someone post front and rear views of their completed wing spars? I am particularly interested in close-ups where the Spar Web Doubler and Spar Root Doubler are mounted. Thanks in advance.
