Thank you for accepting my friend request. It appears that you are well into your 701 build. As you can see, I am just beginning. I have the rudder and horizontal stabilizer built and am now working on the elevator.This airplane is WAY easier than anything I have attempted to build in the past!

As to living in a hangar, there are pros and cons. Having the project a few steps away is great, but there are only 4 of us on the airstrip that fly and there is very little interaction. We built our hangar for about what one would pay for a good backyard shop. You mention that you are looking for a few acres to build on...there are 2 hangars for sale here and still quite a bit of property available. There is not a lot of activity here so property is quite inexpensive. I'm not trying to sell anything...just thought I would mention it.

My wife and I are retired and are usually around so feel free to come up for a visit at anytime. Our airstrip is 3000x75 and is turf. We are about 7 miles northeast of Nocona and the airsstrip is marked as "U"...unverified.

Kurt, I got your friends request also from Viking and clicked on it but don't know if it went thru.  I don't do Facebook!  I just checked my wiring V/View to ECU and also the wiring schematic that came with my Viking View.  The white/green wire from the View connects to the white/red wire from the ECU(fuel flow).  The wires from the View and ECU were all labeled by Viking as received.  I ran the engine for the first time last summer and as I recall I was showing fuel flow on the View.  My 110 is a late 2014 delivery and I like to communicate with other 110 owners re: tips, hints and operation impressions.  Instead of cluttering up the forums,I prefer to use e-mail.  Mine is normneuls@yahoo.com 

Hey Kurt, so your second airplane also?  The 701 has been an enjoyable build, I have another 1 yr 11 months until I retire...Hopefully... Most likely will still be on my 701 project.  Looking forward to this being my main occupation along with a couple other interests.  Flying up to Port Angles in J3 Cub with John Edwards to look over David Orr's fresh flying 701!!! Best and good to have another co-builder to chat with!

I do have a viking engine installed in my 750 Cruzer. Not done yet. Working on panel.

Will next tackle, cowl, windshield, doors, then  build and attach wings, install baggage metal and windows in that order.

Kurt... Have fun building your 701.  I have found it very rewarding.  The construction of these kits has evolved so much over the years that I probably wouldn't be able to offer you much advice.  Everything is pretty straight forward.  I purchased my kit from a guy in Canada who had partly built it, then his wife developed a very debilitating illness that left her paralyzed and he had to put it in storage.  I trailered it down from Vancouver Island a couple years ago to continue his work.  I am now waiting on the FAA to inspect.  There are two 701's in this area and another couple down around Fredericksburg. I stopped flying about 8 years ago. A friend is planning to fly this one for me.  Soon afterward I will be selling it.  I love building airplanes and hope this will not be my last.  This is my 5th - Quickie Q-1, Kolb MK III, Piper Cub L-4, Vans RV7A and now Zenith CH701
